Fiesta Like There’s No Mañana

Cinco de Mayo falls on a Friday this year and we are ALL in. We’ll be serving up killer craft margaritas made from scratch… blood orange, blackberry and traditional… or some Liquid Sunshine. Only freshly squeezed lemons and limes go into our house made mixes (thank you, barkeeps!). You’ll not only taste the difference… but feel the difference the the next day. Chef Sam will be slinging Shrimp Ceviche, Mexican Street Corn, Bar Nachos, and Tuna Poke Tacos to help you soak up all that tequila. So come in and fiesta like there’s no mañana…

Our Second Annual Breast Cancer Fundraiser Kicks off October 1st!

IMG_6306   Starting October 1st, we’ll be donating 10% of sales for the entire month of October to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation… So gather up some friends and find any excuse to come in. It’s time to get your pink on!  We’ll also be selling raffle tickets with some cool prizes for a direct donation of $20.  Last year, with your support and enthusiasm, we were able to raise nearly $23,000… and we know we can outdo ourselves! In October of 2014, nearly a year after opening The Corner Stop with my husband Ron, I was stunned to find myself diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammogram. DSC_3069a It’s been a journey, but after three surgeries, chemo and radiation, I’ve completed my treatment and am feeling strong and ready to make a difference. 1 in 8 women Is diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime…. our mothers, daughters, wives, and friends…. 1 in 8, and men are not immune.  As with all cancers, early detection is everything. IMG_5090   As I often say, I was the poster child for someone you’d never suspect of getting breast cancer- I don’t smoke, rarely drink, exercise for hours a day, eat well, breast fed both my children, and have cancer nowhere in my family, much less breast cancer… and yet it came knocking. Cancer by its very definition is arbitrary and it’s important to remain vigilant. Fortunately, there is a highly effective screening for breast cancer- a mammogram- but you have to show up. As my radiologist said, I was a textbook case for why they recommend annual mammograms. It was caught early, and I am where I am today because I did just that- I showed up. I’m hoping to use the restaurant and its connection to our local community as a platform for fundraising and awareness. We were the beneficiaries of extraordinary kindness and grace from friends, family, and our community, and we’re ready to pay it forward. Please help us spread the word and join us for what promises to be an incredibly uplifting month at the restaurant. With bottomless gratitude, Rudy Vale

Lera Jewels and Beautycounter Event to Benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

corner stop invite   It’s the ultimate girl’s night out- this Friday the 4th in the bar as you do some holiday shopping/wish list making. The bubbly will be flowing as you shop the Lera Jewels trunk show and Beautycounter products. We’ll be set up fireside from 5-8, so grab your best galpals and stop by for a drink. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Check out the beautiful jewelry at Lerajewels.com and extraordinary products at Beautycounter.com. Ronit Tarshis, the founder and designer of Lera Jewels (and Corner Stop owner Rudy’s BFF), will be on hand to help you select the perfect piece.  Her designs have been spied on the red carpet and embraced by celebrities from Beyonce, to Jennifer Aniston and Serena Willams.  This is her first Boston area trunk show. Hingham residents Jenny Barrett and Alison Baldwin will be there as Beautycounter consultants, a line of high performing, safe beauty products for the entire family. It was created by a mother concerned about the chemicals in her cosmetics and health and beauty aids and possible links to cancer.  It’s something we all think about, and Beautycounter has created a line of extraordinary products to answer those concerns…
