Starting October 1st, we’ll be donating 10% of sales for the entire month of October to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation… So gather up some friends and find any excuse to come in. It’s time to get your pink on! We’ll also be selling raffle tickets with some cool prizes for a direct donation of $20. Over the last three years, with your support and enthusiasm, we were able to raise $65,000… and we know we can outdo ourselves!
In October of 2014, nearly a year after opening The Corner Stop with my husband Ron, I was stunned to find myself diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammogram.
It’s been a journey, but after three surgeries, chemo and radiation, I’ve completed my treatment and am feeling strong and ready to make a difference. 1 in 8 women Is diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime…. our mothers, daughters, wives, and friends…. 1 in 8, and men are not immune. As with all cancers, early detection is everything.
As I often say, I was the poster child for someone you’d never suspect of getting breast cancer- I don’t smoke, rarely drink, exercise for hours a day, eat well, breast fed both my children, and have cancer nowhere in my family, much less breast cancer… and yet it came knocking. Cancer by its very definition is arbitrary and it’s important to remain vigilant. Fortunately, there is a highly effective screening for breast cancer- a mammogram- but you have to show up. As my radiologist said, I was a textbook case for why they recommend annual mammograms. It was caught early, and I am where I am today because I did just that- I showed up. I’m hoping to use the restaurant and its connection to our local community as a platform for fundraising and awareness. We were the beneficiaries of extraordinary kindness and grace from friends, family, and our community, and we’re ready to pay it forward. Please help us spread the word and join us for what promises to be an incredibly uplifting month at the restaurant.

Derbyde Mayo this Saturday…. Let’s do it! Frosty Mint Juleps made with Town Branch Bourbon and killer craft margaritas from freshly squeezed lemons & limes. Soak it all up with our fish tacos, short rib nachos, or guac + chips. So come in donning your finest sombrero to watch the Derby… It’ll be happening all day here and anything goes.
Easter is fast approaching and we’re now taking reservations from 10:30-7:00. We’ll be serving up our menu with brunch additions and other Easter favorites. We’d love to be a part of your family tradition.
… because everyone’s a little Irish on St. Patty’s day, and it is the South Shore after all. We’ll have Guinness and Corned Beef & (Mini?) Cabbage… Alright, so they’re brussel sprouts.. but we promise not to fancy them up too much. We’ve got all the fun of St. Patty’s, without the green beer.
When better to celebrate the many loves of your life? We’re open for lunch and dinner on Valentine’s and still have reservations remaining. The bar counter is always open for walk-ins, so stop by with your sweetie for some oysters & bubbly to kick off the night…
Looking for somewhere festive to ring in the New Year? We’ll have holiday inspired additions to our menu and still have reservations available… and you can always stop in for drinks and a nibble at the bar. Ring in 2018 with friends… and we’re close enough to have you back home and in your jammies in time to watch the ball drop.
… and just a reminder we’re closed on New Year’s Day, but will reopen Tuesday for dinner. Have a happy and healthy.
